A very cool tip on shafts

Pete, is there any difference between SlipStic Conditioner and your all-in-one product on how long it lasts between applications?.

The all-in-one has a lower content of the condition but added is a solvent to break down oils and greases. It is not meant for heavy duty cleaning. The solvent completely evaporates leaving only the conditioner behind. (It is also non-flammable and is environmentally safe, non-toxic and non-allergenic.)

Do you recommend using a damp microfiber towel or should it be used dry? Would using a damp towel remove SlipStic conditioner?

Thanks for a great product.

No need to dampen the towel at all. This way you can wipe it down as you play. (Note: do not wash towel with fabric softener or it will destroy the + charge effects that makes it clean so well.) The towel is the same material they sell on TV that picks up dust fast. No, it will not remove SlipStic.

A microfiber towel should never be washed with anything other than other microfiber fabrics. If you wash a microfiber towel with other towels/etc it will do what it's designed to do and that is to pick up lint. It will pick up sooooo much lint it will be ruined. The best way to clean a microfibre towel is to wash it by hand with Dawn dishwashing soap. Do not use bleach, fabric softener and do not put in the dryer.

Omar: The coating is not intended to be removed with the 1000 grit sand paper. The coating is removed with the Mr. Clean Magic Eraser which then leaves the surface of the cue slightly rough. A few swipes with the 1000 grit smoooootes the shaft and then it's time for Pete's products. This process, as given by Pete, will never harm or do any sort of damage to a cue.

Pete: I've been looking on the internet for someplace that sells your Slip Stic, Cue cleaner and ball cleaner but I can't find anybody that carries all these products. Any advice where I can get all 3 of these products from one source?

Thanks Jim.
Yes, the roughness on the shaft are the "fibers from Mr clean magic eraser". You need to wipe these off. The fibers break off as they "pull" the grit from the shaft.

Also, the 1000 grit paper as you stated will clean up the tiny "wood" fibers that were already broken. Mr. Clean will pull these imperfect fibers up. These are the fibers cuesmiths would love to be able to remove, and now they can.

I have noticed that once I have used Mr. Clean once, I no longer need to use 1000 grit as the bad fibers had already been removed from the very first clean. The roughness now is only the Mr. Clean fibers left behind (notice how small the pad gets.)

Thanks again Jim.

To clear things up, I wasn't commenting on Pete's suggested procedure one way or the other. I took issue with the suggestion that the manufacturer finish on a shaft was like shrink packaging on a wrench, and that it was obvious that it should to be removed. If that was the manufacturer's intent, then surely this should be documented somewhere.

Sorry if that was unclear.
