Abe Rich?

can someone fill me in on this cue builder as i have just received 1 of his cues and don't know much about him.

Abe recently passed away at about 90. He had a small shop on Miami Beach for years.

I believe that he was born into a cue making family from NY. And from what I understand (not too much) built a very decent cue.

I bought a production Helmstetter from him about twelve years ago.

I still laugh when I remember him saying, in a very heavy Yiddish accent, "So, are you gonna buy the cue or not?"

The late Abe Rich passed away November 23, 2008 at 82 years old. Born Abe Rutchaisky in Lithuania, this Holocaust survivor was from a family of wood turners.

A member of the International Cuemakers Association Hall of Fame, Abe Rich's nephew Howard Rich owns what is left of the massive stores of wood, blanks, and fully built cues.

I bought the last cue Abe made, as he was trying to talk me out of it and buying a Viking or some other production cue he had in his shop..he was a great and simple man who really loved his craft. I would stop to see him every time I was in Miami Beach...
