How is it that I call three billiard supply stores in the New Orleans area, and all three of them literally tell me "I've never heard of it."

:confused::confused:

just venting...thanks

Got my Magic Rack from Seybert's through the AZ Marketplace. Quick and accurate service. Would buy from them again!

"literally" is the "like" of the 2010s.

In the 80s people said "like" every 3rd word, now it's "literally". Wonder where that started.

Sounds like their loss of business if they don't know what customers are asking for. Just move on and buy from someone who is more knowledgeable.

For sure. I am definitely doing so. I was just a bit amazed that all three stores said they'd never heard of such a thing. I mean, you can't watch a pool tournament these days without seeing one.

Am actually not surprised that they had not heard of the Accu-Racks... We currently only exist on AZBilliards and Facebook as far most people are concerned. Hopefully the fact that the US Open is using the Accu-Rack will change that some.. Outsville is a small company based in Knoxville, TN....

We started making templates and tips a few years ago and have added chalk and synthetic break tips in the last 8 months.

I think people who are active on AZ or the pool groups on Facebook usually think we are a larger company than we are since we do manufacture our own products but we are still in start up phase.. So we do not sell to retailers because we are still at mom and pop capacity...

Eventually Outsville will be able to stand on it's own and won't require continued capital being put in from my primary job as a consultant. At that point we will be able to afford to sponsor tournaments, streams and players... Until then we depend on word of mouth and exposure here and on social media...

Save yourself tons of aggravation. Just go directly to Renfro's site. U.S. made and service from a standup person. I dont often use racking templates, but do have accu-rack templates and love them when I do get to use them. Tip/chalk/templates and the best break tip on the market all from the same place.

Which stores?

Just about every "billiard supply store" that I've been to, in the New Orleans & Greater New Orleans areas, are run by morons. I went to one store where the guy was trying to sell me a new revolutionary pool cue that had a steel ferrule and a screw on tip. I laughed and walked out the store.

I try to support local, but when the locals are idiots, I spend my money elsewhere.

Agree 100%. I was not too surprised that they did not have them, but I was indeed surprised that they acted as if I was asking them if they sold alien abduction prevention kits or something.

FYI, Clearwater in Mandeville (no longer actively selling billiard accessories) has some stuff in the back of the store they are selling "at cost". I got a set of Aramith Super Pros for $149 last week. Considering they are on Amazon for $245, seems like a steal. They have one or 2 sets left I believe. ...not affiliated in any way, just see you're in NOLA and thought I'd pass it along.

Hey nice avatar. Their IPA is the best. Sweetwater IPA is a close second.

I went to Clearwater years ago and bought a set of Aramith Super Pros for $100. They were on clearance at the time, but that was the cheapest thing they had. Their cabinets were full of $500+ Lucasi cues.

Stone makes a ton of nice IPA's, Ruinten is one of my favorites. I've had Heady Topper before, and I honestly wasn't impressed.
