I was hoping to watch some of the Derby through Accustats, but I am unable to connect to the audiovideoweb.com site. I recently got a new Comcast modem wire router. I had no issues connecting in the past with the old modem/router set up. We have tried calling comcast to have them disable "Smart Packet Detecting" on our modem, but they have no clue what this is. We have talked to six different people at Comcast.

The weird thing is that we can connect to the audiovideoweb.com through my wireless phone and my wife's ipad, but none of the three computers in my house can connect and I want to watch this on my computer not my phone.

Does anyone have any suggestions? I have tried turning off the firewalls and anti virus and have tried to open it in Internet Explorer, Chrome, Firefox, and Safari.

Thanks for any help

Comcast was not able to help us after almost 3 hours on the phone with them and there is no setting anywhere on the modem's admin pages to Disable Gateway Smart Packet Detection. I guess I won't be buying any more streams, if I can't figure this out.

Others had this problem and (i think) had to switch back to older modem. Come in chat Jim knows more about it.

Comcast and Audiovideoweb.com

Hi Guys!

(Not a story - happened to me!)

First it was Time Warner Cable blocking IP addresses because of hacking and denial of service attacks and now Comcast has joined the fray.

Comcast, because of a bad corporate image, rebrands as Xfinity.

Xfinity offers me (and others) an "Upgrade" to higher download speeds and a new High Speed (10-100-1meg) router.

Sounds great!

I got the new Xfinity "Technicolor" modem and last week found out I could not connect to "anything AVW". My old Arris modem worked perfectly.

Knowing that I was setting up for Derby City I figured logically (illogically) that if I could solve MY problem with this Technicolor modem then I would be able to solve all customer problems.

The problem lies in needing to disable "Smart Packet Detecting" - YOU can't do it from home and NOBODY at Comcast can do it either on that modem.

Oddly enough when you start to Google "Disable Smart Packet..." Google automatically flls in "Detection" and "Comcast"

11 hours over the week - more than 14 different Comcast people in 5 different departments (all of which ask you the SAME DAMN QUESTIONS to start every call) and the BEST answer I received was .....

"Well, why don't you bring the Technicolor to a Comcast store and swap it for an Arris modem."

I said "Yeah that might be fine for ME to do but how do I explain that to NORMAL people who just want to push a button and watch a show?"

Crickets chirpng.

Told them FINE - I was going to post my Comcast warning right next to my Time Warner warning and told them to expect a few hundred phone calls.

Told them I would also try to calculate my loss of revenue because of their ineptitude. Figured the normal customer would just say screw it and watch TV.

Maybe it's time for Comcast/Xfinity to consider yet another rbranding.

Sorry for the long rant - but as angry as you viewers get, I GET WORSE!

Had the same issue this weekend. Wasted a lot of time, about 4 hours, with comcast. The tech finally said they would send out a different brand of modem. sounded great, but then I saw they charged me $30 shipping!

Went to the local office after work and got an Arris modem and am watching the stream now. They said just bring in the new modem when it gets here.

Funny thing is, I never had a problem until they told me I had to have a new "Technicolor" modem this summer. Got it all straightened out today, It all good now.

I have the arris modem and watched the Svb busty match tonite but now I am unable to watch the next match....

Hopefully others will see this so they don't waste too much time with Comcast. It looks like I will have to change modems, but I doubt I will do it in time to see any of the Derby this week, which kind of sucks.

Thanks for the new modem comcast!
