Hey guys and gals!
Just wanted to do a bit of bragging and a lot of thanking. Accu-stats is a wonderful group of people that delivers a great product to the pool community. Their latest Make it Happen package was the One Pocket round robin tournament, which has some excellent talent playing some amazing matches.
Part of the package was the Knock Out challenge, where supporters who bought the full package in advance were part of a pool where you could win $1,000 if you picked enough winners. The twist was it was a "suicide pool"... which means as soon as you pick one loser you are instantly out, regardless of future picks.
Somehow, on day two, I ended up being one of only 3 people left in the pool. After Alex beat Efren, I was only 1 of the 2 people left. I picked Corey Deuel and the other gentleman picked Shane Van Boening.
SVB had a 2-0 record going into the match and Corey had a 1-1 record. Shane also was playing lights out in his matches. They started their match and SVB got out to a 2-0 lead in a race to three and I was certain my goose was cooked.
After a few frantic calls to Madame Cleo in Jamaica to start poking a voodoo doll that looked like SVB, Corey started to come back. Somehow, Corey pulled out a tough battle and made me a very fun and appreciated $1,000!
Thank you to Corey for coming back from the cellar in that match. More importantly, this would of never happened if it weren't for Pat Fleming and all the folks at Accu-stats who made this tournament happen. They call it the "Make it Happen" tournament, but they are obviously the ones that actually Make it Happen!
Thank you all for the great experience!
P.S. A special thanks to all the folks that put up with my constant rambling in the Accu-stats chat room!
