April 15th thru the 20th....

The Make It Happen Series returns for a clash of the Titans in an All Around Round robin event.....

Thorsten, Shane, Darren and a 4th selected by the voters....

Here is my question.. Why couldn't Accu-Stats crown the "All Around World Champion" at this event? I will warn you that the first person that uses the WPA in their answer will be laughed at....

For years World Championships were decided by round robin invitationals and in some years by 1 on 1 matches..... The idea that the WPA has the right to be the end all be all of crowning world champions is laughable at best....

Going forward I can see no reason that Accu-Stats could not be it's own sanctioning body... Boxing has several sanctioning bodies as do many other sports and each recognizes world champions based on their own rankings, tournaments and contests....

What I could see would be having the disciplines decided by invitationals on a rotating basis... with 1 on 1 matches for the title being held in the interim between the years that the full invitational is held....

Current Accu-Stats Champions based off of round robin play are

1-pocket - Shane Van Boening
8-ball - Alex Pagulayan
14.1 - Thorsten Hohman
9-Ball - Vacant
10-Ball - Vacant
Short Rack Banks - Vacant

With the support and patronage of Accu-Stats existing client base and the growing members of AZ and pool players world wide I could see possibly setting up events year round to bring the best players and matches to living rooms everywhere on a more regular basis...

Any thought would be appreciated on the subject

Perhaps you haven't heard but the All Around World Champion was just crowned
in my basement last week. I don't care about the "_ _ _" either. :rotflmao1:

Haha yeah I guessed I missed the stream =P

The key to it will be how should you determine the guys invited to the invitational round robins or how should you rank the contenders to setup the 1 on 1 matches....

I didn't say it would be easy but I don't see it being a large hurdle to overcome...

I'd say winning a round robin against the field that Alex faced (Archer, Appleton, Reyes, Deuel, Van Boening) is a far better test than the 2012 WPA world championship where Chang defeated.... Fu, Chei Wei, Chris Melling, Carlo Biado, Bruno Moratore, Carlos Caballos and Sayeem Hassain...

Anytime the draw can impact a players chances of going thru you always have a small possibilty of the wrong guy winning the crown....

More food for thought..

I like that Accu-Stats has no bias. Pure stats. I'd be interested I'm pursuing this!

I spoke to Pat last night and I am in. Great idea and great that Accu-Stats keeps coming up with these events. One day I will be able to attend as well.

Guess I should be expecting a call from Pat on the "Invitational World Championship"

Still looking for opinions on the idea... If you invite the best players for a discipline wouldn't the 6 player round robin be a better indicator than a double elimination or single elimination bracket tournament?? Takes the chance of a weak draw getting someone 2 matches from the crown without playing anyone in the top 20....

Chris

OK Bumping this to the top to discuss.. The more I think about it and talk to people the more I am in favor of the idea... Now I just have to convince Pat and Jim LOL If your in favor pipe up here as well

Would having it dubbed the world series be better since it will be a series of disciplines and 1 on 1 challenges???

I still like the Accu-Stats Invitational Wold Championships or World Championship Series......

Chris

Make It Happen still is very self explanatory.

And i think whatever world definitive you can think of will have mixed opinions.

Think outside the world !

King of the Hill

King of the Universe

Galaxy Championship

Anyway it will be a great event worthy of the best name anyone can think of.
