Accuracy Training

If you are like me and don't have access to a table with tight pockets, here are a few shots that help me with accuracy. Basically, you are using extra object balls to "block" part of the path to the pockets. Practice making each shot without touching the blockers. The better you get, the smaller you make the gap. NOTE: 6 pages in layout.

Good idea!

This is a good idea. Another thing it does is cure the magnetic attraction between balls. You know what I am talking about, if you have a mile of green on one side and a ball on the other, the ball you are shooting is often sucked into the one close to it's path. Not sure if it is magnetism or a gravitic pull between the balls, certainly couldn't be an error on my part!

Thanks for the idea. We were playing some of these shots to day and never thought of it as a practice routine.

Another idea you might like is to place a piece of chalk in both sides of the pocket touching the rails. If you hit the chalk its a miss.

There's also these doohickies:

Both this and your idea are good, but I get lazy when I have to set anything up, so I have a simplified version - I simply call one of the pocket facings, left or right, on every shot, and try to hit that facing (or point) while pocketing the ball. It can be seamlessly integrated into any practice or game and is also a good (and subtle) "silent spot" for playing a less experienced player.
