I was just wondering if anyone had any updates on any action going on at the Derby City Classic?

Ill fill you in since everyone else is lame... Efren gave Scott Frost 10-7 for 1000 jellybeans a set race to 5 one pocket,,, First set 5-4 Effie, 2nd 5-3 Effie, Then when I left at 6 am, our favorite filipino was ahead 5 games playing 200 a gamethe same way with frosty ... The man is unreal. On another note, niels feijen's girlfriend is smoking hot. later

The reason they didnt have the midnight 10-ball ring game was a funny story. Jay Helfert starts calling for player to come post up at midnight to get the game started. First guy that walks up, bustamante. Second guy that walks up, parica... Jay Helfert gets on the PA and announces "still need another player for the ring game, bustamante and parica are in." You should have seen the pool players scatter like cockroaches when the lights are on... but i can't blame them, who wants a piece of those two guys... anyway we got to watch the frost/reyes one pocket match on the tv table instead.
 
Platis and T-rex played one pocket. T-rex giving him 10-6 and the break for 500 a game. When I left Platis was 3 games up.

I heard that Dennis Orcullo and Efren Reyes were there too. Who wants to be the 5th player with those 4 guys in? Is there going to be another 10ball ring game at midnight today? What if it is the same scenario? We might never get to watch a 10 ball ring game.
 
Hithrdnrun & Erno thanks for the update. Everyone else who said that they would update us seemed to have flaked out. Maybe we all need to chip in and make sure that Jam and Keith are there every year. This has been disappointing so far. Next year there will be 2 additional spectators from So. Cal.

That was really funny about everyone scattering when Busty and Parica were announce as "in" for the ring game. Maybe the Filipinos should wait until some other players enter or Jay should stop announcing who is in. lol.
 
The live feed on Billiard Club Network is sketchy though. I ordered it and was watching it but it continues to have server issues and is not out again. It is very frustrating. Because right now Deuel, Bustamante, Parica, Petroni, and another player were in a ten ball ring game. It was very fun to watch.

In defense of those of us that are here... This tournament is grueling on the players, specatators, & vendors. It's impossible to keep up with everything that is happening and it's impossible to see it all, have time to report about it, and then get enough sleep to get up and do it all over again.

This place is like being in Vegas... there's something happening 24 hrs a day. The bar is open until 4 AM and there's action in the action room at the front of the hotel, action in the back of the hotel in the tournament room and action in the tournament room upstairs in the back of the hotel.

I haven't seen any tournament play or action, except for a few games of the Frost vs Reyes match last night. I just unloaded stuff from the booth in my room and I'm going to go down, watch some action, socialize, drink a few beers, and then go to bed when I can no longer hold my eye's open. I'll wake up as early as I possibly can and open up the InsidePOOL booth and do it all over again tomorrow. If you've never been to this event, you can't appreciate how difficult it is to see everything, and have time to stay awake long enough to post updates. ;)

Dennis orcollo gave chris bartram the 8 and 9 playing 10-ball 10 ahead for 6000 with about 3-4000 in side bets... and flat whipped his tail... if you have never seen orcollo play he is phenomenal... if efren is michael jordan then orcollo is lebron james... word around the DCC is that they are trying to match orcollo and efren up but efren's backer doesn't like it... wouldn't that be something to watch.... also the usual suspects were playing frost/joyner... deuel/bustamante one-pocket, that was interesting...
 
Wow I wish they showed Orcollo and Bartrum on the Tv table. I saw Deuel and Bustamante. Yeah Orcollo is supposed to be the best money player around. He obviously plays jam up. But I would love to see he and Efren play for the cash. That would be awesome.
