Action in Manila

I will be travelling to Manila Aug 21-31. I am staying at a hotel in Pasig and was wondering if anyone could help me with the following questions:

A) are there any good local tournaments scheduled this week?

B) where can i find the top local players in action?

I have been to Manila before and stopped by a pool room in Megamall, but the place was literally empty except for a bunch of kids. I never got a chance to check out the real pool scene in Manila

Thanks for the help.

I think all the top players play at Rack 'n' Roll Billiards Cafe when in Manila.

A good friend of mine hung around Rack n Roll last month.
He saw Alcano and Kiamco match up there.
Featherweight champ Manny Pacqiao hangs out there too. He challenged my friend to a race to 3 match for $1000 (USD). That's action. Manny supposedly staked Alcano against Alex too for $18K and won.
There's a ton of action there. Also at Puyat's Coronado Lanes.
Edwin Bandido here should have the scoop.

thanks for the info if any of our filipino friends could comment that would e appreciated
Just give me a call when you get here. Pm me your plans and I'll see what I can do to help you and also will respond with my mobile number. Your time frame may not make it possible for you to see some heavy action as most of the top ranked players are flying out for international stints.

Coronado Lanes at Pasay Rd. would be a good place to find some action and I believe a tournament with Efren, Archer and Mika is scheduled along that date.

If you want some local action, Rommel Billiards also have their own house pros that will give some action too.

On Cue 3 will be held on August 29 until the 31st. Robinson's Galleria. check it out.
and yeah, coronado lanes is a pretty good place and it's where reyes, busta, mika, alex and a lot more players usually play.

malls.

if you want to see real poolsharks, dont visit the pool halls in the malls, im from cebu but the real pool sharks are not found in pool halls were the rich kids play. dont worry they dont play in sleazy halls, just look for pool halls where the tables are good, but the parking lots are not filled with luxury cars. these pool sharks play in high end pool halls, but travel by jeep.

hoped that helped. if you dropped by in cebu, i can arrange for you to meet some good players
