Finding a money game in SoCal isn't as easy as it sounds. You really need to know where to go if you want any action. I've had plenty of dry trips there.

Agreed, although I don't really ever play for cash (will for drinks!). It never seemed to be the culture in CA. I lived in a couple of places in Ventura County, and also 3 years in Santa Barbara--played league there. But other than the rare drunk guy who thought he was good, never got approached for a money game.

This was mostly bars in Ventura, Thousand Oaks, a little in West L.A., and of course SB--which also had a couple of actual pool rooms (late 90s). Now in the Atlanta area, you can just swing a dead cat.
