Last week we said hello and goodbye to shark week. This week we say hello to action week at Society Billiards. I still miss shark week though.
I showed up last night at 9:30 to thier normal crowd. In the matter of an hour the tide turned and washed in the players, gamblers and thieves. They could smell the money. With the weekly Master's tournament on Mondays, I knew the turnout would be low. Nonetheless, it wasn't bad at all. Just not as many killers in the house.
Dippy spent the first hour or so at the bar getting tuned up then he got in a one pocket game. Don't know the player, game or outcome, I was in action myself and we don't need to report that outcome.
By the time that game ended, the place was jumping like I havnt seen it.
Dippy got his next game with Rob Pole (good local player) $200/rack 9ball with one of dippy's "why can't I get that" spots. Including the rail, dippy was playing about $600/800 a rack. (thanks for closing your window in me). Not long til rob made a few bucks and they quit. That should be continued later in the week.
Now it's about 3:30am and dippy gets in a $1k/rack game with*Nick Schulman. Don't know spot but Dippy was down about 8 or 9k when I left.
I'm now on my way to work with 3 hours of sleep and slightly larger lunch budget than yesterday.
I'll be there the next two nights and will try to follow what happens and not make more bad games for myself.
