Anyone have experience with one of these? I put in an offer on ebay and it was accepted. The pictures on ebay were awful but I took a shot the seller had really feedback. These I guess were made by adams under their vintage collection. This one being the frank paradise replica CS431 Cue looks minty to me. The Irish linen wrap is not 100% perfect but other than that it looks brand new. I will get some joint protectors for it and maybe wait till my table comes to test roll/shoot it. I don't trust others not bumping into my stuff after someone bumped my carmeli and it smashed on the concrete last weekend.

I can Promise you Garc , That cue is fake , None of the 6 Hall of Fame cues in that Line had Hall of Fame wrote on the butt cap. Here is a link to a 2007 Compition Sports catalog , You can see the differnce in them, look at the pic I posted of a real Japan factory made one . You can see the differnce. I have seen all 6 in person and no hall of fame on butt caps , here is the link to the catalog
Great info.👍👍

On the op's cue look at the design on the bottom below the wrap , It is not right . Look at the real one in the Catalog. They did not even copy it right. The cue the op bought is a Chinese copy , The cue in the Catalog is the real Japan factory made one. These were made for Competition to sell by Adam Japan. The cue the Op has is fake , Chinese fakery
I wasn't sure if there was more than one run and they made some changes but I do know of that catalog you are referring to. What was a little worrisome as well when I rechecked listing today he had three when I bought from this guy he had two so he should have one left. These have to be really rare in NOS form I can't imagine a lot of these still floating around.

Ya, I'll sort this with ebay. It's still a nice cue but seller needs to be upfront. This sounds like this is not the case.

Well if you paid via PsyPal s fraud dispute is in order.

Recently there was arrival how Mano products Amazon has pull this past year, counterfeits.

People all over World make good money selling counterfeit stuff.

NOS is like really old other stuff rare, but not impossible to find.

Recently bought (2) sealed box of Cigar rolled 1993.

Came from estate of guy who had Humidor in room in home.

Thanks all I put in a dispute request the seller has to respond to now so we will see what they say. Honestly it's a nice looking cue but this guy doesn't seem to be on the level and sells a bunch of these from what I can see. That's not fair to the buyers.

I would try to find another seller of counterfeits. Then use that info to negotiate with seller of fraudulently goods.

Did these come in different veneer colors? I think I saw the cue you bought on eBay with natural, red and black veneers. I saw another online with Titlist veneers.
The original Adam from outer, was black, orange, green, and maple, somewhat like the colors that Frank used. Counterfeit is relative, as Adam has morphed over the years. Believe they are currently made in China, if anywhere.

Lol, I loath dishonesty in general I might just keep flagging stuff I see come up. Tbh though with all this inlay work if it's real mother of pearl is a decent price at 300 to 400 imo. I bought this though with resale or trade in mind down the line if I so desired. So it's gotta be the real deal.

Well most of these people pulling scams know most victim will give up, or chalk up bad experience.

Go for the kill, get satisfaction, make crook bleed.👍

I tried to buy from him last year. He had 2 almost identical listings. 1 for an Adam butt only, and another the same butt with a shaft. He wouldn't ship the butt only to the UK but would do for the whole cue. I thought that was strange.

The cues being sold on EBAY are bullshit from China.

They may be okay cues, but they are not NOS from the Adam Japan factory.

Whoever keeps advertising them as Japan-made cues should be banned from selling on their website.

I bought the very last Japan-made CS-436 in Billiard Warehouse’s stock from Greg Savoy back when Adam quit making them in Japan.

There is no way there is still so many NOS cues floating around.

Agreed. Adams made some really nice looking cues I will get one at some point since this one is a fake. One site has a real CS341 that is legit to my knowledge but it's $1,000 not sure getting an adams at that price is a good idea.

Well this is what the seller says.

First let me say that I DO NOT SELL FAKES.Fyi the cs431 was made in 2 different versions, one was made for the Hall of fame Collection and one was made for the Competition Vintage Collection, I have both Cues. Also i am enclosing 2 pictures of the version you are referring to, in the photos you will see that the the Cue never had cs431 engraved on it. I do not want unhappy Customers, Please feel free to send the Cue back for a full refund. PS- It is quite common for forums to have the wrong info. In my 30 years of being an Adam / Competition Distributor i have seen this many times not only on Adam but on many brands

I still say it's likely bull shit. What do you guys think?

The buttsleeve inlay pattern is nowhere near similar to the Japan-made HOF tribute. So, I would be suspicious, unless you are getting the cue at a bargain.

All the best,
WW

Bull to say the least. That Cue is fake. There were no 2 Cue versions. I have spoke at length with the Guy who owned Competition Sports who had this line made at Adam Japan. He told me about the entire line and how it was manufactured. How they were true spliced cues and how they came about. The cue you got is Chinese Fakery no Question about it. There were 2 versions , the real one and the fake one. You have the latter
