Adaptor for Dremel tool

If you don't mind wasting 1/16" of material per cut the 4 or 6 wing cutters chucked up in a laminate trimmer make good cut off tools. I would like to reduce that to 1/32".

You already have all you need to do this with if you have a deluxe router set up. You just need the bit.

Check this one out.. I have been using one for several months with great results. He also makes other models with different size and type of shanks. http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rd=1&item=170130680737&ssPageName=STRK:MEWA:IT&ih=007
If I am looking at this correctly it will work great on a quick change tool post as you can raise the height, but it will sit 1/8" below center in a normal non adjustable tool post. Is that correct? It appears the center of the 1/4" shank lines up with the center of the tapped hole, making it 1/8" below center. That won't cause a problem for parting off rings, but will for boring anything.

My setup but I want another one a little smaller.
Am really thinking of getting a small lathe too.

Are you using a high speed steel blade instead of Carbide? I could not find a carbide 1/32 blade that would fit onto my 3/8 shank. If using high speed steel how many rings can you cut before it is trashed? I cut alot of silver stitch and can't imagine it holding up very long, but I plan to try one this week.

They last a long time on wood.
But, they get dull fast with big phenolics.
But, they are so cheap.

Chris,

It is easy to set it up with a 1/8 shim to center the tool for cutting slots in billets or boring, etc.
