add general location to your profile please

A year or so ago it was suggested that we add our location to our profiles and many of us did so. Many newcomers since then so I thought it might be time to make the suggestion again.

I don't mean exact addresses but it is nice to know what state someone is in, maybe what large city they are in or near. If you are in a country other than the US that information is nice too, along with a nearby city if possible.

This isn't a demand and isn't intended to crowd people to give personal information. It is nice to know roughly where someone is at and sometimes a little general information aids in getting people together.

I live in San Jose, CA and play regularly at Edgie's in Milpitas. If there are any AZ folks that show up there that I haven't met yet, I'd love to.

I've always had my location posted, I've never understood some people's need for anonymity although I respect their right to be anonymous.

I had to check, looks like I was one of those you were refering to.

On another forum (not pool related) I think I was one of those whom reminded.

it is nice to know.... I added a city to mine. well not just A city, but the city I live in.

I list myself as near New Orleans since that means something to many people. If I list the small town I am in it wouldn't mean a thing to many of the people that know where New Orleans is at.

I keep an eye out for folks in the area and places I travel to and it lets me meet a few playing partners and make a few friends I would never meet if I didn't know they were in the areas. That is the value of knowing roughly where someone is at.
