Adding what? Or not?

Cue makers and know it alls , hope you don't mind a question. I have two cues, the first is a Judd JT-1 and the second is a Mezz ZZ606. I love both cues, but... The Judd is slightly heavy in the back even with the weight bolt removed and a heavy shaft added. The nice thing about the Judd is it has a zircote handle and really nice birds eye in the forearm and the butt and it plays nice. The Mezz is a really nice cue but it is really beat up and I would not get any money selling it, getting it refinished would increase my chances but I don't think it'll make a big difference with the end price.

The Judd is 60" even split which is something that makes me like it, it suits my way of shooting. I was wondering:

1. Would it be possible adding a small stainless steel collar to the Judd adding a couple of grams to the front end of the cue? Similar to this:

How much weight do you think a stainless steel collar would add. It looks like this at the moment with a 3/8-10 pin:

2. As I don't plan on selling the Mezz I was thinking I'd maybe experiment changing the handle of the cue making it a 30" butt. I wouldn't mind thinning the butt a bit. That way I would get a cue that is a bit more forward balanced and 30". Maybe go with a wrapless style.

Which would be the better choice if it came down to these two. Or are there maybe ways of fixing the weight issue on the Judd that my amateur mind has not thought of?

Adding weight behind the pin will do what you want and not make the cue impossible to sell in the future.
