Adhesive help for TAR patch

I have seen alot of TAR patches on cases out there. I have just ordered one and was wondering what is the best adhesive to use for the cloth patch going on a vinyl case. It can be a permanent adhesive. I bought a vinyl glue from a craft store & some glue from Walmart that didn't stick to a sk8 patch I was putting on, it would just slide around. Any help would be appreciated. Ron

The patches have an adhesive backing on them. Most people just pull off the paper on the back and stick them on. The smoother the surface it is sticking to the better.

I used to use adhesive backed skateboard tape on pistols and shotguns when I shot competitions. When I needed extra stickyness (if that isnt a word it ought to be) I would just smear a little super glue on the edges of the stuff and it was good to go. I suspect the same would work with patches.

Thats perfect. I'll try the super glue, the edges would come up and the patch would start to slide. Thanks...Ron

The best thing you can do for patches is buy some good contact cement

Use masking tape to outline the patch and put on the glue

Also put the glue on the patch

Wait for like 3-5 mins then when tacky put both surfaces together and press

Take of the masking tape and you sould not have any overflow. If you do just use a rubber to get it off.

When you decide to pull the patch off, just pull as contact cement is not super industrial strength and use the rubber to get rid of any excess

Hope this helps
