Do I owe anyone a number of games after a spot adjustment?

I just want to know this for my sake. I have backed a player against another guy three time and he has been a total of 14 game loser even over the three occasions, but I was able to play myself with some weight and get some back.

They play again with my player getting the 8. He wins 11 games (in one session) the opponent wants an adjustment. I say last two he says no, even. They play even. My guy loses 4 straight. I pull up. He says that's crap to pull up winner. I say I'm not, we're 4 games loser. He'll play again with the 8, not the last two since the opponent wouldn't adjust to that to start with.

Opponent begs for more games. We give him 2 more winner and quit 5 games up from the original game. Opponent cries like a baby that we pulled up winner. Did I do anything wrong?

Nope. The opponents job is to get his money back and yours if possible, yours is to get his. You did your job. I don't recall hearing you say after they were 14 games up offering YOU a change of spot to compensate. Fair is fair.

you don't owe shit, if they wanted their money back so damn bad they should have played a little smarter

IMO you did the right thing. If they want to play with the original spot I think you have to let them, but once the spot changes, it's a whole new game.

tell em there a nit and giving the 8 back won't give him anymore heart period. unless your guy has finally started playing the way he's supposed to. then adjust 1/2 a ball and raise the bet.

Thanks

I think I'll give him this thread address and tell him to read up. Then, I'll pistol whip my player till he plays like he's supposed to (I went loser 3 times because he's supposed to win). Then we'll up the bet.

Every time you renegotiate the spot, you are starting fresh. Your opponent forfeits his inherent right to be given a chance to break even.

Well said.I sure wish more players understood that.

So far I am 15 and 0. Give me a few more responses, so I can tell this guy how stupid that is.

I don't gamble and even I don't see any problem with what you did. I see the whole point of gambling to be walking away as a winner. I know there is a certain etiquette involved, but like Jude said, when he renegotiated it was a restart. If he wanted to return to the original terms and continue and no end time had been established at the start, maybe he'd have a basis for crying.

I feel you are in the right.....

this is why I play "ahead" sets/games mostly. There always problems playing by the game IMO....
