Adjusting To A New Cue

I've been playing with a Meucci 95-10 for a long long time now probably 10-12 years. I'm making pretty good money now, and I think it's time for a new cue soon. I've been looking at getting a Schon, but from what I've read the hit between these two is as different as night and day. Also, I hear the length of the taper is much shorter on the Schon. My question is do you think I'd have a very difficult time adjusting at all. This is keeping in mind I'm a fair player, but by no means great or even very good.
 
I personally have never had much trouble adjusting. A few hours and I am pretty comfortable. I do have a type of hit,taper ect. that I perfer. I seem to notice the tip more than anything. A good first step would probably get the cue you want and put your normal tip on. Some people have a lot of trouble adjusting. If you have a good friend that will let you try something out for a while that might tell you something.
 
I sort of have the same problem, not with the whole cue though, just the shaft. Recently I cracked my stock viking shaft and purchased an OB-1; definately a good choice in the long run I'm sure, but for some reason it has a slightly different feel to it and its been bugging me as I try to get used to it.
 
i went from an old meucci 95 sneaky pete to a schon, no problems adjusting for me, love my schon. I bought an old used schon though, and both its shafts were about 12.4-12.5, which was the same as my meucci so that might have helped.
 
i think you'll like the change after you adjust to it. if you don't schons resale won't drop too much to sell it and make most of your money back
 
i will say I tried a buddies Predator shaft. I didnt like that at all. Dont know if i could adjust to that.
 
As I said in another thread, about 15 years ago, I went from a very whippy (fatigued shaft) Meucci sneaky pete to a steel jointed Schon. It was the hardest transiton I ever made.

It took 3 months of playing with it every day to become comfortable with it but, in the long run, it really improved my game especially in the ball making area due to the less deflection in the shaft. The cue ball actually went where it was aimed. LOL

Just keep hitting balls and you'll do fine.
