Adjusting your game and stroke to a lightning fast table

Hi everyone,

How you adjust your 9-ball game and stroke when the table you are playing on is lightning fast ? (some of the Amsterdam tables are made of glass simonis) I have a real tendency to slow roll shots, and this makes me lose a lot of accuracy. Also as a Straight Pool and 8-ball player, seeing the cue ball flying around the table at high speed with no brakes gives me a heart attack. Do you need to master the slow roll shot, master the drag shot, kill the cue ball with inside english, or just learn the rails and exactly where the cue ball is going better ... ?

Everything that you just mentioned is critical, as well as being aware that you don't need as much angle to get around the table as you're probably used to.

This allows you to play for shallower angles which make pocketing easier. You can get much straighter on a fast table and still not have to slug the ball.

In Phoenix at Metro Sports Bar, there GC's are ridiculously fast. And not to mention the weird rolls that happen. Because of this when playing there I tend to go an extra rail or two to get position rather than slow rolling. I also tend to aim towards one side of the pocket and throw more shots into the center to slow the ball.

I think you need to work on all of these aspects, because if you don't the scenario will come up in a match when you'll have to do the one you didn't practice and you'll skid the ball, dog it, etc.
