Advice needed for upcoming all around match

Find a good One Pocket player and play, a lot. That's the best advice I've ever gotten. There are just so many different parts to the game, us telling you to work on this or that doesn't make sense. Good luck in your rematch, get the cheese!

Luxury,
No more Facebook updates while competing (this is the voice of experience). I do however take the liberty of taking photos and videos and uploading them to FB but I DON'T LIKE MAKING POSTS and talking about what is going on, who I am playing, the status of the tournament etc. as it takes me out of my game.

Get a lesson from a good one pocket player. Have them show you shots that you don't already know or that you have not perfected. There are several shots that YOU MUST KNOW in order to compete effectively in one pocket. Practice those particular shots until you own them.

It sounds like you already know what it takes to compete and have a good game so go play some more. Nice report btw.

So here is how it went down. We agreed to $200 per set, race to 8 eight ball, race to 5 one pocket and then race to 10, ten ball. I got up 6-0 in the eight ball and some conversation finally happens regarding some shit he went through that morning and it ended with him saying, "Don't let yourself get lured into a false sense of security."

We are playing on a nine foot Diamond (I haven't played on a nine foot Diamond in 7 years) I did manage to break and run a rack and felt pretty good about how I was hitting them. I win the set 8-3 and now it's time for one pocket (This is his specialty and I spent a month trying to learn as much as possible)

His unbelievably hot girlfriend shows up for pool league on the 7 foot diamonds and he tells me she said if he doesn't win, she will ditch him as her scotch doubles partner. (she won her nine ball match)

He wins the toss for one pocket and destroys me 8to-1 the first game and I'm certain I'm going to lose 5-0 but I make a nice break and win the second game. He wins the third game and I make another nice break in the fourth game. He tries to make a ball and misses and I manage to run 8 balls! First time ever.

We end up winning every game we break and it goes hill hill and he destroys me 8 to -1

I'm feeling soooooooo confident I will win the 10 ball. I know I have more fire power. Well he is breaking like SVB and playing safe like a pro every chance he gets. He goes up 4-1 and I finally start playing like him only my safeties often look pathetic compared to his. I did manage a break and run and made some sick outs.

It's tied 6-6 and I'm giving updates to all the pool players in our local Facebook page. Lots of pressure. He wins the last four games like a boss and takes the $400 off the light.

It was great action with no issues whatsoever. I'm stoked because it gives me a reason to train hard for a rematch.

Based on what you have read, what advice would you give? Thanks for following.

Lux, why not bring 2 of your ladies next time ;) I know you got at least 2, maybe more ??

Have them start kissing one another before the match. And have them tell you if you lose you are NOT coming home with them

Can't hurt, right ;)
