I recently purchased an 8ft valley coin op table it's in great shape the guy had new cloth put on it. It's that cheap mali cloth but it will have to do for now. Problem is that when we were moving it portions of the cloth came unglued. Before we moved it the guy said it took a "special type of glue" i need to know what is the name of this glue?? And should i sand the old glue off before i add the new glue? This is my first table and i think it has alot of potential i hope to add somonis in the future is that a good idea for a bar box? Thanks in advance for any help i get!

Simonis is great on any size table. As for the other part of your question, you should probably post in in the table mechanic area.
There may be glue used on the cloth SOMEWHERE but I don't know where that might be. (I am certainly no table mechanic though).
What portions came "unglued"?

3M brand SU-77 spray adhesive. Yes, you need to make sure the slate is clean and smooth before you apply the cloth. You probably want to invest in new cloth. Re-applying old cloth just doesn't seem to work as well as applying new cloth. You need to remove the cloth to clean the slate anyway. I would just replace it with new cloth.

Available at Home Depot in the paint dept for about $10 a can (enough for 2 tables).
Cloth on a bar box gets glued to the vertical edge of the slate.
You'll get a more permanent and better "stick" if you use 77/90 as a contact adhesive
(spray the slate edge and cloth where it will contact the slate) rather then as a glue
(spray only the slate edge). Read the directions on the can.
A razor blade (in a blade holder) and GooGone does a good job of removing old glue buildup.

Well thank you all for this useful info! This is the most informative site on all things pool by far.
I've covered a few bar boxes and also use the 3m spray. I get my stuff (cloth) from the below people. I believe they have detailed instructions on how to install the rug. I think you should go with the Simonis too. You will not regret it. But, if you want to use the cloth you have, I have reinstalled cloth before that was not stuck to the top of the slate. If it's stuck to the top, you'll need to start over.
