African American pool pros

I don't think threads are read in their entirety anymore. Maybe folks are in a hurry and only read the last few posts in a thread. The same questions and replies seem to happen a lot in recent times on this thread as well as other threads.

JAM, I actually did read the thread in its entirety but I have to admit I skimmed it and if Rodney's heritage was brought up before I missed it. Sorry if I brought up an asked-and-answered issue. I had the best of intentions giving a shout-out to Rodney.

No harm, no foul! :p

The other day, I brought up an old thread about "Boardwalk Empire," because the premier of the second season is this Sunday. The thread went into detail about Tony Robles being the technical advisor of that movie.

When I posted on the thread to remind everybody about this Sunday, two people posted about Tony Robles being the technical advisor, one poster saying he did not know that fact. I just found it odd since there was not only a picture of Tony earlier in the thread discussing his role in "Boardwalk Empire," but the doggone thread was only 2 pages long. LOL!

That thread was not a lot to read through when compared to this lengthy thread! ;)

One of the black players that helped me with my game was a man by the name of Clinton Bailey...I remember thinking about that but fearing to ask him where he was going and just remained silent, except for my regular words of thanks which I always shared with him each and every practice session.

Joey,

Thanks for the story. I enjoyed the read.

Best,
Mike

Well, there is a black guy they call banking Billy from around the Memphis area, that can bank them pretty sporty. Anyone know him?

I was one three white kids that went to an all black school. After school we'd all go to the youth center where there were two pool tables. Most of the black kids weren't interested in pool. They were more into basketball, boxing, and cards. I think the reason you don't see many of them in pro tournaments is because not many of them are interested in pool. Just like if there were more women players we would see more in mens tournaments the same goes for black pool players. Johnnyt

You forgot Dominoes and Dice.
