After Break 9 Ball...

I also can't remember what games I made 3 rail banks in, or how many times I scratched on the 9, or how many times I played a specific person, or what pool hall I was in when I was 25 or how many games I played, to save you the trouble of asking.
You have played games shooting two balls at one on each shot ? Good Lord did i miss that up... Guy

1 shot.

A 1 9 combo

Many many times over the years
Misunderstood, good practice to shoot two balls at one time, make two at one shot... ( No combo ... Just carom , Example = break pocket 1 ball then pocket 2 balls, then pocket 2 balls, then pocket 2 balls, Then pocket the 8 ball... Guy

That was the question ... Guy
In 8 ball?

I have no idea. I could guess and probably be right. I’ve made 3 or 4 of high/low balls and ran out the rest. I’m positive I’ve never made 5 of stripe or solid. But 3 or 4 for sure I have and certainly I’ve ran out from that spot.

Best answer I have.

13 twice in 1P is my best in a game, I ran 8&out once made a ball on the break and ran 7 so 15 in a row over 2 rack. I wanted that 2 pack so bad but there was no shot for the last ball. I blasted it and nothing found it’s way in. I think that cost me the game-was cheap action anyways.

I understand that

I’ve made 5 balls on the break and ran out a couple times. Maybe 3 times is all. My break is very very weak and bad
Eric i think what I'm trying to say is it would be , Would Be, good practice for players to SHOOT two balls at one time, Pocket 2 balls on one shot... Guy

I posted this for a reason and it's all been made an misunderstanding... I watch a lot of pro pool games and I see many times where players should have seen combinations and caroms that were overlooked and simple to make, This could be practiced and applied, I've been watching this forum and I see the word practice used many times, Aren't we on this forum trying to make this pool games better ? I'm am a very old person and I can't work any more, got a terminal lung infection, but I can watch this game that I have loved sense I was five years old ( Truman was president, been a while ... All could be practiced... Guy

To get to the 9-ball and after the break... for me... 2. I made 6 on the break.

Guy, I always read your posts and do my best to answer them. Sometimes things are misunderstood online-keyboards are a piss poor way to communicate in my opinion. I like to talk, however that’s not a option.

So if there’s a confusion, that’s ok. We just move forward and clear it up.

Yes I’m here to answer questions-when I can, I’m pretty well versed in pool and can help most people only because I’ve been around pool a long time. Not because I’m smart. I try and help encourage people play, practice, give pointers to keep cues in players hands. Stimulate commerce and spending $ on pool equipment.

Anything that’s a positive for pool, I endorse.

I appreciate what you are doing here as well, your a great addition to the pool world. Young, old it don’t matter. Positivity is what’s needed in pool. Not infighting.

If a pro picked not to shoot the combination or carom, it is not overlooked but rather not a good option. They play not to run into balls if they can help it or shoot the fastest shot to win but the best shot to win. Most often when better players play they don't shoot tough shots even if there would be less of them, but shoot a bunch of easy shots they play position on to control the table rather than leave things to chance. You give a beginner a 9 ball rack and they are looking to make the 9 on every shot. You give a good player an open table, they are running out all the balls unless the combo or carom is really easy in relation to the run out possibility. Unless the combo is a hanger, I'm going for a run out, not shooting combos and caroms that cause the ball make to be harder and position play to be harder.

I'm glad to hear that you are well learned , I was trying to help, I've watched pros egnor this when even the left cb placement without any english would be perfect... please try to understand this that I've been watching for ten years now about 2 too 3 sets a day many too 21 game win and I am still conscious... Oh I've seen those same players go on to loose the game. I'm talking 8 Ball and in no way trying to hurt this game... Thats sad, Guy

Eric, Why are so many observations that could be taught and practiced completely being ignored and misunderstood... Our manual for life tells us of this and it's not good... Guy

After the break what is the least shots you've made to get to the 9 Ball... Individual Shots...
A completely random question that very few players would even think about, but likely for me it would be 4 shots to get to the 9-ball if I made 4 balls on the break, or 3 shots to get to 9 ball if I made 5 balls on the break. I’ve made 5 balls on the break a few times, but I honestly can’t remember if I ran out or not.

A better question would be what is the most balls you’ve made on a 9-ball break and been snookered on the lowest ball? I think for me it might have been 5 balls, but I know of a few players that have made six on the break and still been snookered.
