We?re in Schiltigheim, France and the second qualification weekend of the 2009 AGIPI BILLIARD MASTERS is about to kick off. And yet again, as in november ?08 a thrilling collective of champions will make its appearance.

Spectacular Sayginer, reigning world champion Zanetti, Japanese Umeda and Caudron, who just won the world cup in Sluiskil last weekend...just to name a few of the artists that will be pitted against one another, trying to qualify for the finals in March.

The AGIPI BILLIARD MASTERS is definitely the most prestigious three-cushion tournament in the world. With a prizefund of over ? 130K, divided over twenty players, they all come here, looking to bring their A-game to the table. The ?09 MASTERS has a little something extra to offer, both for players and fans. The eight remaining players that come back in March, will play all their matches live on Eurosport 2. Over thirty million households will be able to watch the competitive artistry on the green cadre. A dream come true for AGIPI president mr. Claude Fath, a billiard afficianado of the first degree.

Check out www.agipibilliardmasters.com : the state of the art website by Kozoom Productions where all matches (table 1) can be watched live.

Semih Saygıner-Jeremy Bury match resulted :50-36 in 22 innings.Saygıner won with a 2.27 average.

Jeremy Bury was very strong in the beginning. He reached at one time 2.8 average. He was very concentrated and very precise and left nearly nothing to Saygıner when he left the table.Saygıner's situaton seemed hopeless and Bury looked unbeatable.Saygıner missed 1 or 2 easy positions and suffered 2 kisses in the early periods of the match but he scored a 9 ,which put him in the match then a 12,which gave him the lead and finally a 13,which gave him the match.Espacially the 12 and 13 series are like a private lesson. He played with wonderful precision and positional play.Bury seemed to give up at the late stages of the game but finished with a very strong 1.6

They had also played in Sang Lee Tournament last year.Saygıner beat him again at that time but with much more ease.

Bury is a 7 time France champion and 28 years old.He is a mathematics teacher and has a very snooker like stance with the cue.

Saygıner exhibited on the other hand that he is still a force despite the fact that he cannot participate in world cups and suffers lack of match experience.

regards,

Saygıner just beat Zanetti:50-46 with a 2.08 average.

when Saygıner is non-temperamental and very concenrated,he plays the best 3 cushion.Only his long time nemesises like Caudron and Blomdahl can stop him.

TimurA,

Congratulations to Semih. It was great to get to see him play again. He certainly showed that he should really be ranked in the top five in the world. Of the eight remaining players in this tournament, he, Caudron, Blomdahl, and Jaspers must be heavy favorites.
