Aiming question?
Using your aiming system, can you describe how would you shoot this shot.
It's a simple shot, but it also can be easily missed.

I imagine where the contact point should be and shoot. Depending on where I want the cue ball for my next shot. I will adjust my speed and English.

Not a problem to make the shot itself; the real question is what you're going to do with the cue ball to get it to come back and break that rack...

...oh wait, it looks like there's a ball in the apex position in that rack, so it's either an illegal 14.1 rack, or else we're not playing 14.1.

14.1 is broke, washed up, no one plays it anymore. That is a 15.1 rack. Only serious players play 15.1

Ahhh, I see! I always wondered why my ballset didn't come with a 16-ball, because the peas in a pea bottle are labeled 1-16.

:p ;)

I'd aim at the 3rd Diamond on the other long rail, hit with a bit of left, kick it in the side.

On a serious note, what is the purpose of your post OP? I know you know how to hit that shot, probably with 3 or 4 different methods.

This is a "hanger" using the 'Touch of Inside" technique

TOI is much, much, more than an "aiming system," however.......

This is a "hanger" using the 'Touch of Inside" technique....you simply align it straight in (to the end rail) and cue it slightly to the left of center (TOI LEFT).....then make sure you accelerate the TOI point towards the center of the object ball.... I would be willing to bet I could make this shot 37 times in a row. 'The TOI Game is the Teacher'

You'd miss using a low def shaft I think.

Not sure why you are asking, but I'll give 4 methods:

Old/original - overlap method, I just see how much the balls need to overlap to send the 10 toward the pocket, aim down that line to make the ball. Not sure what that's even called, but how I aimed for years and years

90/90ish - left edge to left edge, pivot to center

Pro One - CTE, edge to A, outside (right) pivot/sweep

SEE - shadow to center, step toward pocket, pivot to center cue ball

With the added caveat that unless I need power for some reason, I shoot this at a nice smooth speed, on equipment I play on if it even touches the long rail with any sort of speed it will jar.

Corrected it for you..
I'm thinking the railbirds will be leaving fingerprints in the armrests of their chairs before reaching for the gelt.
(I'm in for half of your bet)

Some people make way to much out of the simplest of things.
But I guess it's the results that count. :)
