Aiming system threads ....

So I read these aiming threads most of them are silly. I came across a thread that suggested not looking at the cue ball last. It had never occurred to me to look at the cue ball last as I am stroking the shot, as my mind wants/likes to look at the object ball.

So I wanted to do the opposite of what this thread suggested. So I started lining up and just focusing on a single spot on the cue ball and stroking through it .....

damned if I didn't start making almost every ball ....
I think what is happening is that I am being forced to trust the line I have made for myself and focus strictly on the stroke I want to put on the ball.

btw, I think this works for me because I am an avid golfer. When putting you must forget about the line when you stroke the ball and just make a perfect stroke...usually I focus on a specific dimple on the golf ball.

just thought I would throw that out there with the rest of the crappy aiming threads ....while they are still a popular thing to talk about ....

I like this very much. I was trying a few different things earlier today and I had tried this and ran out my very first rack in 9-ball.

Thanks for the reminder. I seem to remember reading somewhere Ralf Souquet looked at the CB last and I tried that and it worked but somewhere down the road of trying to get better by trying different things I forgot about it. Nowadays I am trying Jerry Briesath Chin-Lock with a great deal of success and will include looking at the cb last to see how this will workout. That is indeed trusting your stroke and we should. The cb last really does help with my cb control.

Thanks again

Ralf Souquet would consider you a yeasayer. :D (Ralf looks at the cue ball last) (Your thoughts about what you think you are doing seems spot on).

I've tried looking at the cueball last but overall, it doesn't benefit me more than looking at the object ball last.

Well Joey,

it s more about to really pay attention if it s about the eye-pattern. I talked with Ralph about it. He s making no secret about it. I for myself also played for about 10 years the same way. So it works for sure-just another way. How Randy said it above- another example that sometimes things can work for you and for another person it wouldn t. Later i gave it a try-and it was really a pain the first 2 weeks. Furthermore Ralph has an excellent stroke. And his Pre-Shot-Routines is one of the strongest i ve ever seen. That helps also much.

i like searching treasures btw. :p

Whatever Ralf is doing, he is doing it really well. His recent victory over Orcullo is just one example.
