Aiming

I usually aim with both eyes unless I pull out my trusty eyepatch in order to really get in stroke.

I aim with 2 eyes with thick cuts.

I aim with one eye with thin cuts, left eye for cut to the left, and vice versa.

2 different animals here.........

How to aim with one eye or Two?

Players that aim with one eye. it's called occular vision. They could put a patch over one eye and the shot still looks the same. They aim like they are using a telescope.

This accounts for about 2% to 5% of the players around the country.

Players that aim with 2 eyes make up the rest.

When they cut any ball to the left it is the whole left eye that does the aiming and the outside of the right. When they cut to the right it is just the opposite.

Your going to get allot of screwed up answers for this from people that don't have a clue.

this is the way it is. It's the way the eyes naturally work.

Once you understand this and learn exactly how this works you can correct your aim on any shot.

If not just need to keep guessing and do the best you can.

Can you elaborate or provide a source, preferably relating to aiming in pool? That way we can apply the knowledge.

I learned to play young without any thought put into aiming. Having quit for years, suddenly aiming was difficult. I tried getting low on the shot with dominate eye over the cue, then with eyes centered over cue... screwed me over.

I'm fairly certain I remember playing with a much more erect stance with eyes centered over the cue.

I've obviously never used an aiming system and probably never will, but I won't ignore science.

This is a first in pool though many that don't understand or know will disagree.

Once a person learns how these eyes work for sure will never be told any different because they can see it with their own eyes.

There are aiming systems out there that kind of trick players into getting the eyes in the correct position. I show a player where they need to be and the rest is up to the player. they can take it to whatever level they want.

If not you just keep missing the shots over and over because the picture to the brain is slightly coming from the non dominant eye.

I do Free phone lessons to help players one on one. your welcome to call me along with anyone else.

I've logged over 900 of these phone lessons and with great results.

Give me a call and you will see with your own eyes how simple this can be even though it is hard to figure out from the start.

Looking forward to your call. Just be by a pool table. 715-563-8712
