I wonder how many will recall that it was Alain Martel that Mika had to play in the semifinal of the 2001 WPC. Martel led early, but it was Immonen's day, and Mika earned a shot at Ralf Souquet for the World championship the very next day. Mika won that one, too, to win his only World 9-ball Championship.
The animated and engaging Martel was a crowd favorite that day in Cardiff, Wales. Wonder who the crowd in Asia will back tomorrow? My guess is Immonen.
