Well time to write a little review on my WMD's as I like to call them but some days they are WSD's,figure it out on your own. :p

I would like to start by saying my new player from Dave is outstanding,the tulipwood handle is gorgeous.The finish is very nice and clean,it has a G10 pin in it,2 shafts,one is heavy hard rock maple,it weighs almost 4 ounces,the other is a 31 inch shaft made from birdseye maple and the weight is about the same,its my one pocket shaft.I would describe the hit as firm yet responsive,I would not put in the category of stiff with the birdseye shaft feeling a little softer perhaps because of the taper of that shaft or the tip.The balance makes the cue feel lighter,the cue weighs in at 19.4 which is heavier then I used to play with but I wanted it that way.Its ebony cored with maple and the handle is cored with purpleheart.I have owned many cues and rate this right at the top with Phillippi's I have owned and other top notch cues.

Congrats for the cue,My next cue will look almost same except the ebony would not be cored and it have cored burl handle.

Dave is a fine cuemaker:thumbup2:
 
The tulipwood in this cue is awesome man! Very nice combo with ebony.

One thing I can say is you wont be dissapointed with Daves cues,the only thing that is better then the looks of his cues are the playability,they play great. :)
 
Very nice cues but I did a double take when I saw your new case. See the inlays in this cue I built earlier this year:

The customer sent me a sketch of the sword inlay in January & I proposed the double ended inlay for the buttsleeve to expand on the theme. This is almost too close to be coincidental so I'm curious about where you got the idea for the design.

Rest assured that I have no problem with the similarity. I think it's neat!

FWIW, the customer lives in La Mirada, CA.

Thanks for the compliments and I did see the beautiful cue you made.The design of the case was made for that cue,this particular case was the original,I was asked if I wanted the inlays off or on it,I liked them so much I kept them on it.One of these days I want to have a cue made perhaps a 4 or 6 pointer with the inlays like the one you made,they look great. :)
