Alcano gets $20,000 bonus from Philippine President

Is that $20,000 tax free? If not how much does he have to pay in taxes on the 20 and the 100 K?

The extra 20Gs is definitely tax-free...
 
Not to shabby for a bonus, I know when Pagulayan won it he also got a bonus from the Philippine government, does anyone know how much it was for Alex when he won it?
 
If Alex was awarded a bonus it will be the same amount. The biggest bonus is given to Olympic medalist, I think around 50K.

I doubt that he got a bonus from the Philippine goverment because the time he won the WPC, he was still representing Canada.

I know for a fact that he received a bonus from the Philippine government, I'm just not sure of the amount.
 
From the $100,000 Ronnie won in the WPC, he only got around $60,000. His sponsor got a huge chunk. I hope he got the full extra $20k tho, he deserves it.
 
he also got something from the mayor of his town, but i think the bigger bonus is the sponsorship from San Miguel. A restaurant/poolhall for his family to run will be a gift that keeps on giving....

what a nice, inspiring story this is continuing to be.....
 
its a shame our government in america doesnt support pool players like that :)
