What portion of your league players are alcoholics?

If you play in more than one league, just pick the one you thought of first.

While you're in the league it's easy to ignore what's going on, but now that I'm on hiatus it seems clear that the majority of players are at the very least problem drinkers.

Private poll so no one will see what you vote.

Likes to drink and alcoholism are two VERY different things.

Do people drink in league? Yes. For many it is a social event. As for alcoholics there are a few I might label as such, but not many.

Why you asking?

Are you getting tired of the drunks kicking your ass?

Some people play a little bit better with some "aiming oil".

Totally agree. Having some drinks and being a alcoholic are very different.

Actually, it was the opposite problem... hanging around for league night that takes 4-5 hours while people get progressively drunker and unable to concentrate.

When you "have a few drinks" four or five nights a week for years then yes, you might be an alcoholic.

I get where you guys are coming from though

Actually none. In all the leagues I play in, the only people that I know well enough to make a call if they are an alcoholic or not, either don't drink or drink sparingly.

How do you know he was drunk?

Apparently you haven't watched the video. Anyway, I was there.

Here's some pearls

Karl struggling to rack the balls and Malaj is offering to assist him doing so.

Karl making a tough 8 and going bat crazy.

Karl breaking.

There's so many other hilarious moments in the match, but I can't be arsed to find them.

LOL at Karl breaking. Wow.

Poorly worded.

"How many in your league drink more than two drinks on league night?" Or something like that.

The term alcoholic is far more clinical.

I have a few, depending on the night. I have friends who have more. I do not believe them to be alcoholics.

LOL
That was funny.

I like Karl a whole lot better when he's drunk.

Happy drunks don't bother me - it's the angry, obnoxious ones that always make me wonder what I'm doing there.

I drink too... but I know how to maintain and nurse it when I reach a certain level.

interesting

The term "alcoholic" is not an official term used by the medical profession any longer with regards to a diagnosis. The term is Alcohol Use Disorder. This is definitely a "wider net" with respect to who would qualify. Most people are not honest about their alcohol intake with regards to how much they drink and how often. If you have blackouts...there is a very good chance you suffer from Alcohol Use Disorder. Most normal people will get sick and vomit and may have some fuzzy memory but will not suffer blackouts on an even semi-routine basis. People with Alcohol Use Disorder do not get sick and will often drink until they pass out, the money is gone, there is no booze left, etc. But, just because someone does not drink to that extreme every time they drink does not mean that they don't have a problem or that they are not suffering from Alcohol Use Disorder. A lot of people isolate themselves either literally where they drink alone or they go into establishments or with groups outside of their "normal" associates to drink how they want to so that they are not judged for their drinking and behaviors.
