Gentlemen, I really appreciate the debate concerning my auction. I can assure you that I do own these cues, among others, and have done so for at least the past 20 years.
This is a great forum and I also collect Mazda RX7's and
www.rx7clubs.com
is also a great forum. We have similar debates.
I can appreciate "onepocketrocket" 's concern as I believe that he really believes that this auction is a scam. His concern for the rest of your membership is one of true belief and is only looking out for the well being of his fellow members. That is the great thing about America, is our freedom to discuss our feelings and beliefs in open forums such as this without fear of reprisals from whatever authorities. We can thank our Military Servicemen and Women for these kind of freedoms.
I also appreciate the support by the members that believed this auction to be legitimate. They do so out of their feelings and experience and some blind faith too. Granted, it is unusual to find this many (and I have more) high end cues in one spot, but I as a travelling Mattress Salesman at the time got interested in shooting pool and collecting cues back in the early 1980"s. I got pretty good, won a couple of trophies but was outmatched by most of the serious players that do the circuit. Some of you guys are quite good.
I was beat out by a Man in LaGrange, Texas in 1987 that only had one arm and it was a stub with a deformed hand. He bridged his cue with his left bare foot and beat everyone in the Tournament including me. I went over and shook that Man's Hand, gave him a bear hug and retired myself from competitve billiards. I figured since I have two good arms, two good legs, two good eyes with 20'20 vision and this was the best I could do, then competitive billiards was not for me.
I continued my cue collecting career for years and will resume that part of it.
I took up Texas Holdem Poker in 1991. I did not pay profitably for seven years and tutored under a professional in 1995-6. I have since won a couple of major regional tournaments and placed on the final table in many others.
The past two years I have played full time and have put together enough scratch to start the business of my dreams (a mattress store) and am liquidating some personal items to raise the other $10,000 I need. I have actually opened as of this weekend.
Thanks to all for reading this long and drawn out reply. I appreciate the opportunity to converse with some Fellow Americans and will drop by this forum from time to time.
ONEPOCKETROCKET, don't take personal my note posted with the pics. I was just wanting to get your attention. Thank you for looking out for your friends, you are a Great American. Just remember that the "Jury" is always out until all the evidence is in. I sometimes form these kind of opinions on these big news stories these days. "Well, he/she is guilty or not guilty", but have learned to with hold judgement until I see all the evidence. All of my other items on eBay have been a quest to find what sells. Pool cues sell well but as you know, a supply like the one I posess is hard to find.
TAKE CARE GUYS AND GALS ! THANKS AND GOD BLESS !
