congratulations to alex for winning the IPT qualifier, but doesn't it seem sort of odd that a recent World Champion wasn't already on the list? although, i guess i could be mistaken, but it seems to me that Alex recently won a World Championship and in my opinion is second only to Reyes as an all around player.

In case you may have missed the posts relating to the application deadline of September 30, 2005, when the IPT tour was first announced, it was mandatory that any prospective player apply before that date. There were no exceptions. Out of the 3,000-plus applications received, Kevin Trudeau selected 150 of his choice for reasons only known to him.

Willie Mosconi could have risen from the grave to compete on the IPT tour, but if he had not applied before September 30, 2005, he would not have been a possible candidate and thereby up for consideration to be one of the 150 players of the first season.

I am tickled pink that Alex Pagulayan won that qualifier at the DCC. He is a breath of fresh air, always upbeat, and lights up the room wherever he hangs his cue, not to mention, he's a mighty LION on a field of green! Everybody loves Alex! :)

You bet, JAM. This is great news for all of us. Alex is a great player and a great personality and will delight those lucky enough to get to watch him in action.

hey JAM,

yeah, but what puzzled me was his reasoning for not picking alex in the first place, assuming that his application was submitted on time.

also, i should have added a footnote to my post.......

in my opinion alex is second only to efren, although KM is subject to beat either one of them at any given time.

not trying to get off topic here, but while efren knows how to do things that amazes people and things that noone else knows how to do, I have seen KM do things at the table that make me say, 'not even efren could have done that!'

I talked to Luc Salvas about a month ago and he told me that Alex did not submit on time. So there isnt any assuming of anything. Hope this helps

If an application was not submitted on time (Alex's was not) or incomplete (missing bio, etc.), then the player was not chosen.

Hey Marissa,
1st: I am glad to see you're back, I was concerned about your last aviator.

2nd: As for me I would like to see AZ get rid of the Aviators, they seem to create problems.

3rd: Now, before I make my next statement, I am just trying to state the facts, as I know them.

4th: IPT is holding 4 qualifers, double elimination brackets,
the winner of winners bracket & the winner of the losers bracket win tour cards for 2006.

5th: The first qualifer was held at the DCC, 46 entries.
Jason Miller won his card from the winners side & Alex won his from the other side.

6th: Re: www.internationalpooltour.com

No motr flying for the AZ :p

I too was glad to see Alex get it, I also wondered why he wasnt on the original list of players. I would also like to see Robb Saez get in on it too.

Hey Icon of Sin,
1. Sorry, just my thoughts.
2. Robb Saez played in the qualifier at DDC.
3. Alex must have been a late entry.

I think he was poking fun of your spelling of "Avatars" not your opinion. I am glad to see Alex get his card glad to see he stepped up to the plate to earn his card. He should be proud that he earned it and didn't receive a "Gift". Now if I can just convince a friend of mine that.

I would like to say that Alex is VERY happy that he won the spot, and you are right Scottster he is extra happy that he earned it! You seem to be the only one who realizes the whole of the situation.

He DID send in his application late, so all he could do is qualify a PROVE he belongs on the Tour, right? Alex had a theory - "h well, if I can't win a qualifier to get in,, then maybe I don't deserve to be on the Tour...haha?"

Hi Phoebe! Give Alex a big congratulations on earning his IPT card! Not only does he have such great pool talent and skill, he also has an awesome personality and tons of charisma!

By the way, it was really nice to have met you at the Derby ... and thanks again for the dinner and the VERY amusing stories you told! :D You had me cracking up the whole time!

Louis will be playing in the IPT qualifiers so hopefully he'll win his tour card and we'll run into you at an IPT event! ... and dinner will be on us next time!

Hey Connie & Louis,
Louis, sorry you did not gain your tour card at this event!
But; CONGRATS, for winning free entries into the next three qualifiers by defeating Mike Segal in a race to 6.
