After lots of great info from people on here and on You Tube , I have my slates about as level in all directions as I think I will ever get them.
I am using a Starrett level and I am not off more than a quarter of a line in any direction.
My slates must have been chipped previously along the inside edges because there is Bondo going out a couple inches in some places and the slate seems a little low in some of those areas , {like they sanded into the slate ?}
I' m talking a hairs width.
Also , do I have to use Bondo since its already in so many spots ?
1. Can I use beeswax over Bondo ?
2. Can I use water putty over Bondo ?
3.I'm sure the Bondo will catch fire if I apply flame , so can I just drip the Bees Wax on it maybe using an electric heat gun on the slates with Bondo?
4. Are there any tricks you use to get the slates perfectly level to each other at the end of the process? {Having some trouble here! Every time I adjust something i throw it off somewhere else.
I "have" found that if you don't put the shims on both sides of the screws it will bow the slate slightly. Anything else?
Thanks
I leveled my table by getting the center slate as perfect as possible , then doing the ends.
I had to do it twice because the first time the final slate was too high to meet the center even without shims. Thanks, I appreciate all answers and ideas.
I play mostly one pocket, and I want to be able to kick 3 rails and maneuver balls in the corners or it probably would not need to be so accurate.
