Allen Green Cues - Houston

I posted almost a year ago asking if anyone knew about this relatively unknown cue maker out of Houston. I received several responses that said "old school cue maker" "really sharp points" all basically good reviews. Well my wife suprised me (luckiest man on earth) and bought one for me online after hearing me talk about such a great cuemaker here in the Lone Star State. Anyway, holy cow. SO SOLID. Ivory joint, Hoppe ring with transitions from butt to wrap to forearm that are perfect. Mine has flame style points that are like razors. One is a milimeter or two short but I have received several compliments and I am re-envigorated again with my new toy. I would have posted earlier but I have been playing so much lately that I havent had time. Now off to Tampa for the APA US Amateurs with my new stick. Allen, I want to thank you and I promise I will post some pics. Your cues are amazing and you deserve some huge props.

Missing: Joint is 5/16 14

He's got a eye for detail and always seems to look for that"right" hit before he puts up the Cue for sale. Allen is for sure on the right track.

Trouble w/pics

My pics are way to big and I dont know how to resize. Is there a "how to post pics" section. And Measureman, I forgot to add, she looks like a model and cooks like Paula Dean. She must have lost a bet, huh?

Hook Em, its 11:53 and OU still......well you know the rest if you are from Texas

Pics!

Finally figured it out. Allen's cues deserve a better photographer but you can see how sharp the points are. The detail in the grain of the butt and the ivory joint are not as clear as real life either but still impressive. Emabarrassed that I didnt know you could add them to the original post.

Thats a great old school design. Hard to beat the classics.
Looks like a model and cooks like Paula Dean!
At my age the cooking impresses me the most

Nice review and who the heck cares if the points are exactly the same length anyway? That just means it was handmade to me. What joint does your cue have??

Tap! Tap!

You have a great wife. She is a keeper.

Yeah, no kidding!

Ron you're truly lucky buddy and I'm sure you know it brother. But let it be known, your Christmas present better stack up even higher ;)

Absolutely beautiful cue man, maybe the next I'm home from Houston we can meet up so I can hit some with it. I can only imagine how solid of a player she is. Mucho congrats homie!!

Hook Em! Even after getting our * SS whoop, OU still SUCKS!!! :grin-square:

Best,
Mo

I also agree

I have an Allen Green Cue also and I love it. It is my everyday player and it is one of his earlier made cues. Super nice points and great veneer work on it. I called and talked to him about the cue because it is not signed and dated but he did verify after seeing pictures of it that it was his cue. He was a nice guy to talk to and I cant wait to get another cue by him.
