the semi's of the challenge of champions in 2001 when Chao won it for his second time, Allen said he wish'd or wanted the rules to be of jumping the cueball, here is what he said. If you hook yourself you shouldn't be able to jump the cueball but if your opponent hook'd you then you can jump the cueball. What cha think about that rule and if it was put into affect?

I was watching the same show on ESPN classics, and personally, i think if they are going to do that, then they should just get rid of jump cues all together.

I also noticed they was using the sardo, but breaking hard !!!!

yah i recorded it i want the semi's with Django and The Pearl i have seen it along time ago great match but me personally don't own a jump cue and don't like jumping the ball i would rather kick at it but times i wished i owned one cause i shure can't do it with my playing cue.

What about guys like Mika Immonen who often push out to a jump shot. Then his opponent declines the shot (gives it back), Mika makes the jump shot and runs out? That adds a pretty interesting element to the game.

I'm not sure if Allen would consider that "hooking yourself" or not :)

Good topic

I agree with Allen for the most part. I think that if someone makes a good break shot and gets hooked they should be able to jump out of the bad roll. I think if they push into a spot to jump from and their opponent gives it back to them then it was him hooking you. You can then jump. But when you start shooting straight ins get to the five ball and hook yourself on the six you shouldn't be able to jump back in the game you screwed up don't get some poker cue that makes the shot a straight in.

Real pool is all offense until we play with no defense there must always be a jump shot. So I can make the shot and say thank you for the straight in. When I play defense on myself no jump shot it's more fair and it's better pool.
