I am currently looking at a cue the cue looks like a southwest pre-date cue. My question is are the points even or uneven in a the pre dates, and if I take the butt capp off what should I look for. Thanks, Matt

I hope you can't take the butt cap off.... maybe the bumper, but not the butt cap!!!!!!!!

Send Laurie Franklin some pics

Email some photos to Laurie Franklin at swcue@aol.com

To do it right, you need to send her the cus to authenticate. There a re a lot of unique features that only they know to look for. As for self examination, there are a whole lot of decent copies out there being passed off as "pre-date" Franklin era SW cues. Exercise caution.

fyi the diameter of hole on the joint pin doesnt tell u if its a DPK or SW, neither would removal of the rubber bumper reveal any potential secrets. Best for u to send to laurie, or DPK himself for verification.

Thanks for all the great tips! And yes, I meant to say bumper not butt cap. I can tell that the cue is older, probably late 80's early 90's. I will try to get some pics to Laurie.
