"it didn't work" I think is what you meant, now as I've said before Earl has issues that need 'way' more than a nights sleep or time away from the table.
I long for Earl the Pearl I once knew to come back, hope he can. He's still got allot of good years ahead of him.
 
Winner breaks should be the way pool is played. There are only two draw backs to winner breaks.

1. The weaker player rarely wins. Not really a negative but when you see so many events moving over to the alternating break format, I can't help but wonder if that is what promoters want.

2. A player potentially can run out an entire match, and an opponent never gets to shoot. But honestly, how many of you have ever seen that happen in race to 10 or more? I am sure some of you have seen it, but how many times?
 
Ohhh i think pool is a game of mastery if you can run 10 racks or even 20 racks your a great pool player no more no less ... alternate breaks
makes a great palyer lose his monentum !
