Am I the only one?

The only thing you really need on a decent one piece house stick is a decent tip IMO.

And a rubber mallet to hammer it until it's straight. (there are no decent one piece house cues until hammered)

Since I got my Boti in 1997, I have only played with my Ted Harris (Santa present in 2002) for League nights, Tuesdays and Thursdays. Trust me, I would love to take my Boti back with me to the bars, but I just can't risk that anymore.

And then there's also the dings up and down the shaft from people smacking the cue on the rail when they miss.

All the dings in the shaft are an integral part to getting the feel of the cue. :) Just like lining up the shot with the bend towards the table or away from the table depending on what you are doing.
