Amateur Pool vs Amateur Pickleball

Hmm...sounds like a smaller playing area is easier and possibly more fun.
It requires less area so we could get 2 matches per tennis court at our club.
It is also more inclusive because less skill is involved, no athletic ability is required, and the learning curve is much shorter.
The seniors have a blast playing it and it keeps them moving and socializing.
Bonus: it's outdoors typically so -vitamin D.

I know that at my tennis club, men played tennis and old ladies played pickleball.
That's all need to know because I am not an invalid yet, allowing me to play an actual sport like tennis.
When I am old and decrepit, I will pick up pickleball and probably dominate the know-it-alls like you.
Telling us you didn't watch any of the linked video without telling us you didn't watch any of the linked video.

Your childish responses are tiresome.
At least you're staying active-ish,
Good for you.

ETA: I will never waste a minute watching a video of PB lol. I suppose if someone is coming from having never played competitive tennis or ping pong, PB may seem interesting.
To me, it's like knitting or cross-stitch I guess.

I've only played PBall a couple times just because my family was playing. It's fun and I can see how it can be competitive for anyone all the way up to the very elite levels...yes my brother was even making me watch the pros on YouTube.

It's not tennis. It's also not just old folks. We were playing in Lakeland, Florida and the courts were full of young players -- mainly in their 30's I'd say. The tennis courts were completely empty. That's just the reality. Comparing it to bar table vs big table pool is not an accurate comparison because those are still the same games. PBall is a different game than tennis. It seems like it's sort of in between Tennis and Table Tennis.

Tennis is dying a quick death except for the most talented players in favor of pickleball. It's crazy how busy all the pickleball courts are.
Racquetball players too. 80% of all the guys I played with quit and took up pickleball. None came back so it must be pretty fun. I'm going to try it this summer.

Pickle all is nothing more than table tennis played standing on the table. What a waste of a whiffle ball.
This is true. It's also what's great about the game. You get all the subtleties of table tennis, on a bigger court with lower barriers to entry. Right now, the tennis crossover people dominate pro pickleball. I think the future will belong to table tennis crossover players.

Why do people just want to dumb down pool for ratings.

Pool is a fringe sport....which is a good thing. Hard to learn, harder to understand.
This is simply wrong, pool is one of the most popular participatory sports in America and has been for decades.

Unfortunately some people like you want to gatekeep pool for gamblers and obsessives but thankfully that's not your prerogative.

See? Mini pool could work. Portable pro grade tables. Action anywhere on the spot.

Of course that could be said of a lot of activities.

Yeah. That is the future. It's a wiffle ball so you can do cool things with when the spin takes. I like a third shot and serve that are basically loops. Second shot is a chop. Can move shot left to right to jam up right-handers.

Right now the game is full of tennis players, so you get a little topspin and maybe a slice here and there, but there's huge potential for more creative shot making.
