My "Does this annoy you" thread- watching a simple, rather unimportant gripe turn into a psychiatric primer of three pages.

And what's with 'Mr. Wilson's' role here? Gets in a last insulting implication and then closes the thread.

In reality, 'Mr. Wilson', the guy who plays monotonous safeties is always asking me to play and, no, his safeties don't put me on tilt. I beat him two to one, remember?

Mebbe Mr. Wilson did it to put you off your game.

We'll see if you take him 2 to 1.

Risky...I'll give you the break, the crush and the seven out as far as AZB goes.

If you wish to keep being antagonistic........Wanna play?

"In the moderator world, all the trainees play against 'the Wilson'." :D

The personal reason for the thread, and it's closure, is completely silly on an internet forum- but the problem itself was useful for everyone.

Disappointing for me, really- I had an experience last night that made me think of that thread, and I was looking forward to sharing some quick thoughts this morning on the general topic of safes, and hearing reactions.

Ah well. Let the local pissing match continue on.

Read my signature, and see if it makes any sense for your problem.

they may look the same, but there is a difference.

Yes, I do understand. I was able to handle and complete each problem as they presented themselves last night- there was nothing but thoughts to share this morning. My final take was much less subtle, and more brutal:

Pool isn't about making balls- any yahoo can do that. It's about taking and keeping control of the table.

Note: This is a reminder that I have to spread it around before greening you again, Neil- and thanks for offering that good quote.

How about every reply to respondents in the other thread...then you decide to start this one baiting me.

We've been down this path before in another life, haven't we.

I play for keeps. Want to play?

I guess someone could go read them and decide for themselves.

Don't know what life you're talking about and, no, I don't have the slightest bit of interest in your "game" but don't think it's because I give a damn about being banned here. There actually are better things I should be doing.

It is not about making shots or playing safe; it is about playing the correct shot each time you are at the table, which will provide you the control for which you are looking.

I only wish I could do it more often; however, I am getting better at it.

I thought the original thread came over as whiny tbh. However, it was generating debate and didn't seem to be getting out of hand. There have been plenty of other threads of lesser quality that have been allowed to run an run.

Over exuberant moderation in my view to lock it. It's all opinions I suppose.

Well, the original post was whiny. That's what personal gripes are, aren't they? I was just curious if and how much it annoyed others but actually it was a completely forgettable subject. However, some of the responses to such a simplistic subject were remarkably slanted and hostile.
