Amazing collection on Ebay

They can be gaudy. The first below is described as inlaid marquetry cue, circa 1850s, loaded with cloisenne, comprised of ivory, brass, tortoise, spelter, and enamel, double spliced, ivory buttplate and ferrule. Also shown is a Meucci wannabe Casino

It's a pool cue not military regalia. Of course nothing else showing that it's legit.

yes, given that it indeed is legit the value of it can be crazy high, and is pushing the value of the entire collection.

it doesn't really matter that it's a pool cue either. it could be napoleon's toilet brush and rich people would wanna buy it, put it on the wall and show it to other rich people. and napoleon is of course interchangeable with peter the great or george washington or elvis presley

The collection shows just how much in high esteem the game of pool/billiards was going way, way back. Also, to imagine the early 1900 major American newspaper sports pages held news about Babe Ruth and a major pool tournament at the same level of coverage.

This entire billiard collection today will not sell for as much as ONE Babe Ruth game used bat.

not counting the napoleon cue they are asking about 3000 each for the others. and i suppose the pics were of the best of them so the others cannot be worth that money. the ones in the pics certainly are for the rare collector that is nearing his death age.

best for many of these type of things is to donate them and take the tax write off. or sell individually.

likely they already know the small set of people that may buy these and obviously they don't want them

There sems to be a amazing billiard collection on sale on ebay:

Napoleon Bonaparte 1st cue?
Bit pricey though, some beautiful pieces from the past
Would have thought the seller to be on AZ.
This guy bought up a ton of stuff decades ago cheap.....he missed his window to get reasonable prices. Now he is asking for prices he will never get. When he passes, this will be a hell of a yard sale.

Yeah a collection like that will get no where near what he asking for just 150 pieces.

Sadly the collectors who collect those types of Billiards items, are for the most part, dying off.

He would be better off going to Sotheby's, selling them in Dubai, and taking the hit on the auction fees...

The only way he's going to get that kind of money...
