Reigning 8-ball and 9-ball world champion CHIA-CHIN WU accomplished something amazing on May 15, 2006. In the "2006 Taiwan Men's Pro-Billiard Competition" against another Taiwanese left-handed player Hsiao-Hsuan Li, 17-year-old Wu broke and ran 8 consecutive 9-ball racks after he won the lagging. Finally, Wu ended Li's event with an 11-0 victory.

It must have been quite a decision for Chang and Kuo not to make this event in their home country, considering they're in the US participating in the BCA.

Funny how Wu can run 8 racks and you hear, "Looks like big pockets to me". lmao, I guess that draw shot on the one in game 7 was just a hanger eh? I've seen other players run 8 racks, like when Medina did it at the SRO tournament that accustats taped. Danny was firing in long rail banks, making combinations and going all offense.

These 8 racks by Wu were very controlled and he made it look easy. His break is just tremendous.

That was some awesome viewing. About 3 years ago, Wu came to Korea for the 1st Korea International Championships. I took one look at him and thought he was just one of the players kids or something. Then I heard him break. Actually, the place got quiet suddenly right after he broke and everyone turned to see who it was. Is that Charlie? Hohmann? Immonen? Nope, welcome to Korea Wu...

Who cares? Did anyone else run anythign even close to 8 racks that day? Hell no. 8 racks is an accomplishment no matter what size the pockets.

Wu's breaking is absolutely excellent. His power and cue ball control on breaking is second to none in Taiwan, particularly his control on breaking!

Wu has amazing control on his breakshot. It looks like his control has improved, he used to let the CB go a little bit but now he has it on a string :eek: He looks different after losing weight, too.
