We have an ambassador for pool here in Texas that deserves some major thanks!!!

For several years Melinda Bailey, aka. Trigger, has been promoting pool in Texas. Largely through the Hunter Classic Ladies 9Ball Tour, now the OBCues Ladies 9Ball Tour, but also has always been a supporter of all events in the area and abroad.

You can always count on Melinda to add something positive or put an upbeat spin on things in her posts here as well. I encourage you to search her posts and get a feel of who she is.

1) Tournament Director OB Cues Ladies 9Ball Tour
2) Board member OB Cues Ladies 9 Ball tour
3) Top finisher and supporter of BCA events State & National
4) Web designer - major involvement with Azbilliards.com
5) Photographer - Taking and archiving photos from numerous Texas events
6) Respected poster on AZ Forums
7) Uploads tournament brackets for major events in Texas and abroad

I'm sure there are many more behind the scenes things she does to further this great sport! Not many give so much back to pool!!! Kudos to Melinda Bailey!!:thumbup2:

Most people don't have a clue how much this pretty lady does for the game throughout Texas, the Southwest and the country!

I just wonder when she finds time to sleep.

And on top of it all, she plays pretty sporty!

I can't say enough for all her help and support this last weekend in Austin!

Thanking her just doesn't cut it!

Also, there is a nice article about Melinda on the front page of AZ in the Columns section. I've known her for 15 years and found out a lot of new things about her.

Yes, winning the Texas Open is a coveted title! Many top players in attendance. That particular event pictured was won by Texas' own Sylver Ochoa with a win over Rafael Martinez!!

Great, Paul, now folks are gonna find out what I do for a living, instead of wondering what this means under my AZB Forums profile:
"Occupation: you wouldn't believe me"

Paul - you are awesome and I am lucky to have you as a fellow ambassador and friend!

Thanks for starting this thread Ray!

I have to tell you that I really can't thank Melinda enough for all that she has done, not only for pool, but for OB Cues as well.

Melinda was kind enough to call me and give us the opportunity to take over the Hunter tour when Wes had to pull out. It has been an absolute blast for us, and we look forward to the OB Cues Ladies 9 Ball Tour lasting for many years to come!

Oh Yea! There is the Scotch Doubles thing! Melinda neede a partner for the BCA tournament 2 years ago and someone, probalby Monica Anderson, suggested that she ask me to play. I beleive she said "OK, but he is going to have to try out!". Well, I made the team, so to speak, and we placed 5th-6th our first year out, and there were over 400 teams! The funny thing is that she refused to practice for the whole year before the tourney! Well, next year comes along and guess what, NO PRACTICE! Oh well, it must be working becaue this year we took 4th!

Anyway, now she is teaching me how to use the computer! lol.

Many thanks to you Champ!

What did it cost

Ray,

How much did she pay you to write that? ;)

Seriously, she is a class act and she brings a lot of energy and fun to any tournament she's at.

See ya'll soon

I don't know prompted you to write such a glowing tribute, but I have to agree wholeheartedly. Melinda is a gem, and I'm a better person for having known her. I agree with all the posts so far, and I continue to be impressed by her game!

I was sitting in Colorado over the weekend and following my friends in an event in Texas. That's what prompted me. ;)

I've also received encouraging comments on my phone while playing in major events. Melinda makes me want to be a better person. She's such a great example. How many people can you say that about.

Obviously I'm a fan, but she earned all the accolades on her own. We are lucky to have her here.

Alright Ray, how much money do you want? ;)

Seriously, I am not sure how to respond to all the nice comments, except thank you. The thread and posts do make me feel warm all over (no rude comments, Juan or Monica!).

I love pool and I love helping people. It's a winning combination for me!

Thanks to everyone!

Sincerely,
Melinda

Royce, you're just saying all this because I am your webmaster!

P.S. For anyone looking for a scotch doubles partner, and if I ever give him up, Royce is really great! :)

Melinda-Melinda-Melinda

That is some funny stuff Sas--I love it. You are right---my home girl has game.

Melinda is as genuine as they come and I'm so thankful that she is in my life. With her and pool in my life, they make life more meaningful and just plain peachy keen. :grin-square:

She is pool's Madame Ambassador and if azb had a Hall of Fame, she should be the first on the list to be bestowed with that honor.

Love ya babe!!!!! :lovies:
