Amboyna on Cocobolo

I couldn't get a full photo today because it's already dark here. I made a quick make shift box to take these in. Last year, I had a full setup, but I lost my office for the baby's room, so I took it down and have been too lazy to set it up again for the winter. I'll take a full one in the AM before I ship it out.

I'm holding out on photos of that one. Need to wait and surprise everybody with the penis inlays you designed.

yous to guys kill me:thud:....i love the banter back and forth i see why yous two get along so well.....lol........i am so ready to get my hands on mine....mickey carroll

All right. Got back from vacation last week. Haven't touched a cue since just before Christmas. Tomorrow I'm back to work (had the kids today).

This one's finally ready to go.

Wow Tony, you have a new Clearcoat or your buffering is now Top Notch, very shiny:thumbup2:

Tony told me two things about this cue...
#1 - He thinks it's his best work to date, even he can't find anything to complain about.
#2 - It's the best finish/buffing job on a cue to date.

Both very good things for me!:cool:

Got the cue today. It's way more beautiful in person. There is an incredible depth to the coloration that just draws you in up close, and the inlay work is unbelievable. Everything looks so big in pics you forget the true scale of the work involved. The 3 piece inlays are just crazy with the thin ebony & ivory borders - 12/1000ths! (think about that...) - and the inlaid Hoppe ring is the nuts. The sterling & abalone sparkle out like little diamonds. The finish is brilliant, and the long, sharp, clean veneers pop softly thru it & pull you in.
All the work is just clean & razor sharp, & there's a lot of detail in this cue.
Awesome work.

Tony took some even better finished pics that will go on his web site when he has the chance. Hope he'll post them here, too.

Congrats Chris, beautiful design concept perfectly executed. Very impressive. I think Mr. Zinzola's waiting list is about to get a lot longer based on this cue alone.

Hows this baby hit-em Chris? Love the cue design on this bad boy. The veneer colors really flow very nice with the wood. I`m gonna be at SBE in March. Any chance you or Tony will be there? Thanks for sharing this beauty with us.
Jeff

I won't be at SBE, covered up with major projects at work. Don't know about Tony.
It hits really nice, but it came out 1/2 oz too heavy. I'm sending it back for Tony to replace the steel pin with titanium. He thinks that should take care of it, & will reduce the weight and move the balance back where it's meant to be. He was a little surprised that it came out heavy in the front that way & didn't want me to wait any longer so he sent it out for me to try.
He'll get it sorted out, no troubles. Just had to order the titanium pin.

The coloration in the forearm with the coco against the veneer colors is kind of mesmerizing in person. Very deep.

Tony also had to make a new inlaid ivory Hoppe ring for this one due to some very fine cracks that showed up when I rec'd it. Thinks they were caused by stress when he removed & re-installed the ring after cutting off & replacing the butt due to a spot in the amboyna that he didn't like. The replacement will have abalone dots in the ivory circles, within the ebony boxes this time. Should add some nice sparkle, too.
He rec'd it the 14th of July, and has the new inlaid ring installed & the butt re-finished. Said he would be re-wrapping it this weekend, and taking some additional new pics before shipping back to me.
I hope to see new pics posted today or tomorrow. We'll see...
