I get bored after 8 hrs. of snooker. Wednesday we played 14.1 on the snooker table with many runs of 31. We played races to 75, always being close 60-61,before final rack. We played banks too for hrs.all total we played from 10:30 wedn morning- till thursday-5:am There was a brake where we worked on gluing the ebony pointed front to the handle and glueing the butt section to the sleeve. Just another 16 hr day at the table, I'm teeling you brits, english you need to change it up a bit. There are tougher games than snooker. what does Quentin Ham(spelling off) practice ? other than certian shots for 2 hrs aday. Does anybody remem ber Eddie Charlton aussie from the 1920- This guy was world champion snooker and billiards and his 2 sons were century runners. Have a great day chaps mark

Eddie was a prominent player in the 1970's-80's but was never a world champion in either billiards or snooker. He did contest finals in both, but lost on each occasion. In fact somewhat surprisingly for the home of the legendary Walter Lindrum, it wasn't until 2006 that Neil Robertson became the first and only Australian ever to win a snooker ranking event.

There are many other games that are played socially on snooker tables but none professionally, although the rules of volunteer snooker (a variant of the main game) were included in the rule book issued by the WPBSCC when they were the governing body. My favourites are scrub (or 41), skittles, and cricket. Killer is also often played locally but I don't care for it - it is always a complete stitch up.

2 hours, really? Gotta built some stamina! I'm actually planning on putting in 10 hour days over the holidays. But how can you ever get bored of international rules snooker? Perhaps it has to do with the 10' table....

Sorry must have name confused, will quote from bk tommorrow

I must have the name wrong .I was reading 2 snooker and billiards books. One guy was a trick shot performer, and the other was a snooker and billiard champion. who's 2 sons were 100 ball runners. In his bk their are shots that he and his son shot 1 hour aday, every day of the wk. This guy had 2800 century's in competetive play. And played once running reds and numbers against 2 oppents score 283-0. The books have great stories of Willie Hoppe, Greenleaf, mosconi, Lassiter and many others. I will repost with correct names. have a great day chaps.mark

Stephen Hendry has the most competative centuries of anybody with over 700. Ronnie is still several hundred behind him. I don't know where that 2800 comes from unless it billiards and not snooker.

yeah unfortunately at 23 years old I have really bad knee problems...its why I curtailed bowling and switched to billiards. I just have to have some breaks instead of a long drawn out session.

The longest stretch I have ever played pool is nine hours. Today will be the longest ever session of snooker. I have played starcraft for 14 hours but that was done sitting on my rear.

From what I understand from the US championship as well as most other big tourneys is that it's an all day event with very little rest (if any) if one doesn't practice that, it'll be very hard to keep ones concentration for that long. I guess mnorwood and I have breaks every 4 or 5 frames or so for me to clean the table....
