Our semi finished product with no extra frills or sponsors would look something like this;
6 National Championships per year.
512 players nationwide that play a 7 week round robin schedule at their local clubs.
256 move on to a 1 day regional event in week 8 (within 0-4hrs of their home, no fees)
128 Cash at 16 regional events and the top 2 from each regional event move on to a 2 day expense paid National Championship.
32 player national tournament would be a 2 day weekend event with everyone in the $$
Payout would be something like this depending on weekly fees we end up with; $15-$30;
$15,000, $10,000 3rd-4th $5,000 5th-8th $3,000 9th-16th $2,000 17th-32nd $1,250
The worst thing that could happen to a player with this format is that they play 7 matches locally (2-3hr each) and are out $105-$210 at the end of 7 weeks.
If by some minor miracle we can teach or help each of these 512 players get a sponsorship of $100-$200 per month from local businesses (which they could actually provide value to while playing 42 weeks a year locally) we could move to 12 events per year with all players playing for free or cheap.
We’re also planning to ask each of our players to bring in or coach one Jr player so we can start a weekly Jr program at each location once we’re at 64 clubs. Last week out of the blue my son was invited to play on the RI Junior golf team to compete in the New England team event, something we knew nothing about, my bad, anyways they took 7 kids to CT for 3 days and paid for everything, van, hotel, meals, cost me nothing, we CAN DO THIS people, with just a little unity.
So I’m asking you if you think we would be better off with this united format in place to help us make it happen.
We’re going to start season 2 immediately after the US Open (Oct 13-19) and we would like to add as many rooms as possible. We’re specifically looking to add 8 rooms in TX, 8 rooms in CA, fill in the East Coast and Midwest with 4-8 rooms each. We are not against adding any areas but we are trying to add them in groups of 4 when possible so if you would like to see your region added get with us and we’ll do our best to make it happen.
You can help in many simple ways;
Learn from pools past but don’t live in it, help shape the future.
We’re trying to build the Nike Tour of Pool (now the Web.com tour), to help current players compete nationally for little to no money and creating a place to raise future players.
One of the easiest ways to help is to get to know what makes the American Billiard Club League thing work and then explain it to other people properly.
Help spread the word to players and room owners. Contact me and I’ll send you hard copies of any info you’ll need, fliers and anything else I can offer.
Talk it up as much as possible, azbilliards, facebook, emails just go a little out of your way to help pump it up, the quicker they understand the quicker we can make it happen. In 25yrs I’ve never seen a format that makes more sense than this and we want other people to understand why; self reliant, self sustaining, united and will allow a person to live a sensible life while competing nationally.
Our first finals are going to be held the day before the US Open this year and we’ll be giving about $12,000 to 8 players. The reason we’re going the day before the US Open is to help our players with expenses in case they plan on attending the Open. We’ll be doing this with as many Pro events as possible. Our season 2 finals will probably be held at Derby City 2014.

Currently seeking a cue and case maker to reward our 1st Ever American Billiard Club National Champion and Runner up. We will consider these as sponsorships for at least the entirety of season 2, Oct-Jan 2014 and it’s also a nice chance to be part of history.
Season 2 starting Oct 2013, all help appreciated.
