American Players

And you keep dodging my original question. If a handful of players from a third world country such as Philippines are able to afford to compete, why can't two Americans?
Nothing wrong with tossing around a hypothetical question for us all to debate. But if you actually want to know a definitive answer, you can always try hitting them up on social media.

There are people who post on here who make absolutely no effort to research what they write.
It would be perfectly possible for the two Jasons to leave the East Coast of the USA on Thursday overnight sleeping on the plane. The qualifying tournaments started yesterday 7th and there are only three of them. So with $25 a night sharing then six night would have set each of them back around $150. Plus $600 for their flight
That is attainable. It is a bit of a shoestring budget but they get extra money for qualifying and unless you draw a second/third tier Filipino then it is not that tough.
I personally like both of these guys and could have set up a schedule where they would have certainly showed a profit.

Last year it was said that the qualifiers were actually the toughest part of the competition. If it's so easy, then it's even more reason for Bergman and Hall to venture and try to compete.

I saw numerous Arab men who were weak B players. It's like turning stone here, a nice event to play. It's a great idea to have a qualifier round so it doesn't water down the later rounds.

Most US pros today can't afford to travel to the big regional money added events. It's too expensive living on the road unless they want to sleep in their cars and hustle. I don't see any recognized pros doing that. It'd too bad because their window of time to make their mark is very brief. If I had the talent of a Bergman, Hall or Dechaine, you couldn't keep me home.

Is the World Championship always there, if so, it seems like it should be in a different country each year to make it fair.

This particular event is not a cheap affair to put on and until other nations are willing to commit these type of dollars on a long term basis, it is unlikely that this event will be moved from Qatar.

That being said, I believe that in chasing the prestige of a World Title, there is much more at stake than money.
