Amway Cup underway in New Taipei City, Taiwan with an amazing seven of the world's top 10 female players and about half of the top 50.

Group stage is complete, and the 32-player elimination rounds start in a few hours. Jasmin Ouschan (AUT) failed to survive the group stage. Though Chezka Centano (PHI) does not have an established Fargo rating, her preliminary rating is about world-top-15 speed. Red and blue bars are ratings before and after group stage, respectively.

Current world rank by Fargo Rating is in parentheses.

Centeno is a young monster in the phillipines. A world beater and is 4-0 in her group. She most recently won the SEA games beating one of her idols, world champion, rubilen Amit. I love her game and she is a threat to go very deep. The fact that jasmin is already out shows how many monsters are there.

I think I see an pattern about where the best women players are, just a little bit scewed to one part of the globe there LOL

Did any women from the US go there this year?

I don't believe any U.S women made the trip.
When the WPBA was going full steam, a lot of the women had sponsors of some kind. W/O the WPBA not so much. Also no big tour money to go on their own dime. Same as most of the men. Johnnyt
