An Early Bob Meucci Cue

Here are pics of an Ivory Crown Jewel. It is #16 according to the tiny engraving inside the ball of one of the septors. I admired this cue design as a young player because it was used by a local hero to me, Ed Gregory. It was also the cue design used by a favorite pro player, Jim Rempe. When Dick Abbott offered the cue for sale, I couldn't resist.

My favorite aspect of the cue is the lack of perfection...Bob was doing a lot of hand work crafting his inlays and inlay pockets; clearly this cue was hand made and took a great deal of effort to construct.

> Is that the one Dick had for years, that was made back in the 80's and unhit? If it is I"ll bet it's a kick-ass player, because Meucci really did make a nice hitting, repectable quality cue back then. If this was one of the same model made in the last 4-5 years,it would be a TURD. Tommy D.

This is the old cue that Dick had listed for some time that had never been hit. Jim Rempe sold me a couple matching shafts and I have enjoyed playing with the cue several times. Not a turd...a fine cue.

I give kudos for the OLD Meucci's but damn that cue is fonky lookin........Again I rather play with a older Meucci original than the newer crap they have but Meucci designs do not impress me.........But congrats no the cue

I believe I may have shaft to match that cue if you are interested. I will have to check again. Let me know.

I am always interested in enhancing the cues I plan to keep. Send me a PM with your price if you find the shaft. Mr. Rempe also sold me a shaft for the ebony version of this cue. If anybody has that Crown Jewel, we can work out a swap or something.
